My pop has a yard barn where he keeps his lawn tractor. It’s blocked up pretty high off the ground and for years he has driven his tractor in and out of the shed on a pair of old flimsy ATV ramps. It scares me to think about it. My brother and I got to talking about it and decided we needed to avert a certain hip replacement by building Pop a cool and SAFE ramp for him to get his tractor in and out.
We approached the project as if we were building a deck. What I mean by that is we installed a ledger board and built everything else off of that. It was a pretty easy project and it was nice to spend the day with my brother doing it. I had never built a ramp for a shed but I am pleased with how it turned out. It’s strong and will provide Pop a safe way to drive in and out of the building. We had less that 100 bucks in the entire project. Thinking about doing something like this? Then check out my video.
